Meeting You Where You're At...Helping You Get To Where You Want To Be

Welcome to the Possibility of Making a Meaningful Change in Your Life!

I am so happy that you found me and I believe there is a reason that you did. If you are looking for a psychologist who is fun, knowledgeable, and offers a variety of services that are meaningful and effective, you're in the right place!

I work with children, adolescents, adults, families, and schools. I love helping people set and reach short and long term goals, experience happiness, and effectively manage and accept negative emotions.

I believe in the benefit of being able to reach people who may be limited financially, geographically, or physically or who have difficult schedules and commuting concerns. There are a variety of ways we can work together. Check out the online therapy options in the secure virtual office.

I really enjoy helping people to identify, accept, and overcome anxiety. While we all experience anxiety during our lives, it is important to learn the difference between real and imagined dangers, to be able to approach new experiences even if we are scared, and to live a life free from the damaging and smothering aspects of anxiety related disorders.

I especially love working with college students. Learning, growing, and developing professionally through higher education can be some of the most memorable years of your life. While earning my bachelor's degree, I spoke at college fairs, parent workshops, and open houses to represent what college is like and how you can be successful. I loved helping first year college students from around the world adjust to college, choose majors and careers, get involved, and have a great college experience when I worked as a college advisor for 4 years during doctoral study. During my last year of graduate training, I provided therapy services in a college counseling center.

In my practice, I work with students who are struggling with relationships, independence, time management, stress management, anxiety, test anxiety, life choices, career plans, friendships, and life balance. I help students to be successful at school and have a memorable experience. I can meet with you over the phone or internet securely around your class and work schedules. So, if you're upstate, in the city, or on Long Island, there is a reliable option for you.

The Summer It Rained: How Boppy the Beagle Learned to See the Sun Behind the Clouds is a story about Boppy, a Beagle who is struggling with overcoming sadness, being resilient, and using effective coping strategies. Boppy’s friends, Gabby and Polly, work hard to help Boppy feel better. When Boppy’s owners take him to see a special dog psychologist, Boppy learns how to cope with negative feelings, overcome challenges, and cultivate optimism and resilience.

This story explains the feelings of sadness and negative thinking, illustrates how people in someone’s life can help (e.g., the characters of Gabby and Polly), describes the process of what to expect before, during, and after seeing a psychologist, and outlines basic principles of Cognitive-Behavior Therapy. It is not a “quick fix,” but rather a story that depicts the struggles of a usually happy dog, previous failed attempts of receiving help, reaching out to parents, teachers, and psychologists, and putting time and effort into learning new skills.
